Based on your state requirements, on-demand courses are accepted in your state. Our courses are structured to meet NCEES Continuing Professional Competency (CPC) guidelines — the nationally recognized standard for continuing education. Each course includes a final graded assessment and completion certificate, giving you the documentation you need for your state's renewal audit. Engineers are responsible for confirming their specific board requirements.

PDH Hours Required: Professional Engineers in Virginia need to complete 16 PDHs every two years. These educational hours are crucial for enhancing professional skills and keeping up with industry standards.
Renewal Dates: Engineers should renew their licenses by the last day of the month, every two years from the date they received their license. This regular renewal helps engineers stay current with modern practices.
PDH Carryover: Engineers in Virginia aren't allowed to carry over PDH hours into the next renewal period. It's important to plan to complete all required education within the current two-year period.
Board Pre-Approval: The Board doesn't pre-approve courses or providers. Engineers have the responsibility to choose activities that fulfill the Board's requirements.
Approved Content: Courses should relate directly to the engineer's work, aiming to improve or expand their professional skills. Engineers can also take courses in business practices, such as project management, risk management, or ethics, making their knowledge base well-rounded.
Approved Activities: Our site welcomes online courses, providing a flexible way for engineers to learn. There's no limit to the number of hours you can earn through online education, making it easier to get the professional development you need.
Notes: It's important to keep records of your PDH completion for at least 3 years. We help you with this by allowing you to access and print certificates right after you finish a course or webinar. Plus, we keep your completion certificates safe for at least ten years and you can access them online anytime through your account.
