State Requirements
New Mexico
Info
Based on your state requirements, on-demand courses are accepted in your state. Our courses are structured to meet NCEES Continuing Professional Competency (CPC) guidelines — the nationally recognized standard for continuing education. Each course includes a final graded assessment and completion certificate, giving you the documentation you need for your state's renewal audit. Engineers are responsible for confirming their specific board requirements.
- PDH Hours Required
- Professional Engineers in New Mexico are required to accumulate 30 PDHs biennially.
- Renewal Dates
- The renewal date is December 31. Engineers with license numbers ending in an even number renew on even-numbered years, and those with license numbers ending in an odd number renew on odd-numbered years.
- PDH Carryover
- Engineers can carry over up to 15 PDHs to the next renewal cycle. However, excess ethics credits cannot be carried forward as ethics PDHs, though they may count toward the general continuing education requirement if above the mandatory 2 PDHs.
- Board Pre-Approval
- The New Mexico Board does not pre-approve courses or providers. Engineers need to verify independently whether activities align with the Board's standards.
- Approved Content
- Educational content should aim to maintain, improve, or expand the skills and knowledge relevant to the engineer's professional practice. A minimum of 2 PDHs must focus on ethics.
- Approved Activities
- Engineers may fulfill all required hours through online courses, provided these entail passing a quiz. Courses on our platform comply with this criterion.
- Notes
- Dual licensees are still bound by the 30 PDH biennial requirement, but credits must be evenly distributed between subjects pertaining to each profession. Engineers must keep PDH completion records for at least 3 years. Our service facilitates this by providing immediate certificate access and printing post-course completion, and secure online storage of completion certificates for at least ten years.
