Base PDH

State Requirements

Nebraska

PDH Hours Required
In Nebraska, Professional Engineers are required to accumulate 30 PDHs biennially.
Renewal Dates
License renewal deadlines are December 31 of odd-numbered years for professionals with last names starting A-K, and December 31 of even-numbered years for those with last names starting L-Z.
PDH Carryover
A maximum of 15 PDH can be transferred to the next renewal period.
Board Pre-Approval
The Board does not pre-approve courses or providers. It is the responsibility of each engineer to ensure chosen activities meet the Board's standards.
Approved Content
For content to be eligible, it must enhance the licensee's understanding and application of engineering principles and methods. One PDH must be dedicated to the subject of Engineering Ethics. Topics not accepted include Business Skills, Firm Management, and Personal Development. While online self-study is limited to 25% of total hours (7.5 PDH per cycle), there are no limits on interactive educational experiences.
Approved Activities
Though self-study courses are capped at 7.5 hours per renewal period, other forms of educational activities are not restricted. These include offerings from professional societies, technical associations, government agencies, accredited education institutions, and IACET-approved providers.
Notes
If an engineer can certify that they have met the continuing education requirements of another state with the same renewal period as Nebraska, they are deemed compliant with Nebraska's requirements. Engineers must keep PDH documentation for at least 4 years. Our platform facilitates this by allowing immediate certificate access and printing upon successful course completion. Moreover, we ensure your completion certificates are securely stored for a minimum of ten years, accessible via your online account.
