How many PDH does a Missouri PE need?

Missouri PEs complete 30 PDH within the two calendar years before each biennial renewal. There is no mandatory ethics hour; technical, ethical, and managerial content all qualify as long as it is relevant to engineering practice.

When does a Missouri PE license renew?

Licenses renew by December 31 in the same parity year they were first issued: odd-year licenses renew in odd years and even-year licenses in even years. An engineer licensed for less than 12 months at the first renewal does not report PDH for that renewal.

Licenses originally issued in an odd numbered year renew by December 31 of each odd numbered year. 20 CSR 2030-11.010

Can Missouri PEs carry over PDH?

Hours beyond 30 earned in the two-year period may be applied to the next period, up to 15.

Any licensee who completes more than thirty (30) professional development hours within the preceding two (2) calendar years may apply the excess, not to exceed fifteen (15) hours, to the requirement for the next two- (2-) year period. 20 CSR 2030-11.030

Does the Missouri board pre-approve courses?

There is no requirement for pre-approval of courses or providers by the Board. Engineers must use their discretion to ascertain whether a professional development activity aligns with the Board's criteria.

What content counts toward Missouri PDH?

The content of the activities must be designed to extend or enhance professional skills and knowledge in the field of engineering. Notably, subjects in Personal Development are classified as non-acceptable for credit.

Which activities count in Missouri?

Continuing education undertaken online is permissible, and the Board recognizes internet-based courses as valid, provided they include a quiz to demonstrate successful understanding.

Other Missouri rules to know

Retention of PDH documentation is compulsory for a minimum period of 3 years. Our site aids compliance by offering immediate, on-demand access to certificates upon successful course or webinar completion. For ease of mind, we also securely store your certificates of completion for no less than ten years, accessible anytime through your account.

These records must be maintained for a period of four (4) years and copies must be furnished to the board for audit verification purposes if requested. 20 CSR 2030-11.030
