State Requirements
Mississippi
Info
Based on your state requirements, on-demand courses are accepted in your state. Our courses are structured to meet NCEES Continuing Professional Competency (CPC) guidelines — the nationally recognized standard for continuing education. Each course includes a final graded assessment and completion certificate, giving you the documentation you need for your state's renewal audit. Engineers are responsible for confirming their specific board requirements.
- PDH Hours Required
- In Mississippi, Professional Engineers are mandated to complete 15 hours of professional development annually. This commitment ensures they continually enhance their skills and stay current with industry advancements.
- Renewal Dates
- Engineers should mark December 31 on their calendars as the annual deadline for license renewal, creating a consistent rhythm for professional development.
- PDH Carryover
- Engineers can carry over up to 15 PDH to the next renewal period. However, it's important to note that excess credits earned in ethics training do not carry forward.
- Board Pre-Approval
- Rather than restricting engineers with a pre-approved list of courses or providers, the Board allows engineers to choose their professional development activities, trusting them to adhere to the requirements.
- Approved Content
- Eligible courses or activities must have well-defined goals and objectives designed to uphold, advance, or extend professional skills and knowledge related to the practice of engineering. Notably, engineers must undertake at least 1 PDH of ethics training every two years, fostering a commitment to integrity within the profession.
- Approved Activities
- With no restrictions on the number of hours, online continuing education is accepted, offering flexibility for engineers to develop their skills and knowledge in a manner convenient for their diverse schedules.
- Notes
- Dual license holders are required to accumulate 18 PDH units, with a minimum of one-third of these credits earned in activities specifically related to each profession. Record keeping is essential, as documentation of completed PDHs must be retained for at least 3 years. Our site assists professionals by offering immediate certificate access and printing following course or webinar completion, as well as secure, long-term storage of certificates for at least ten years, accessible through your personal online account at any time.
