Info
Based on your state requirements, on-demand courses are accepted in your state. Our courses are structured to meet NCEES Continuing Professional Competency (CPC) guidelines — the nationally recognized standard for continuing education. Each course includes a final graded assessment and completion certificate, giving you the documentation you need for your state's renewal audit. Engineers are responsible for confirming their specific board requirements.
- PDH Hours Required
- 24 PDH are required biennially for Professional Engineers.
- Renewal Dates
- June 30 of even-numbered years for all engineers.
- PDH Carryover
- A maximum of 12 PDH may be carried forward into the next renewal period. While the mandatory 2 PDH in ethics cannot be carried forward, additional ethics credits can be, provided 2 PDH in ethics is also earned in the current renewal period.
- Board Pre-Approval
- The Board does not pre-approve courses or providers. It's up to each engineer to determine if an activity meets the Board's criteria.
- Approved Content
- A well-rounded education covering technical, non-technical, regulatory, ethical, and business practice activities is required, provided it directly benefits public health, safety, or welfare. Each activity must have a clear purpose and objective to maintain, improve, or expand pre-existing skills and knowledge or develop new relevant skills and knowledge. Effective from the renewal period ending June 30, 2016, 2 PDH must be in engineering ethics each renewal cycle. These ethics PDH must be earned within the renewal biennium and are not eligible for carry forward.
- Approved Activities
- Internet-based courses are acceptable if they include an exam or another verification process. Our online quiz fulfills this requirement.
- Notes
- Dual license holders must fulfill the PDH requirements of the license demanding the highest number of PDH, with a minimum of one-third of the total PDH required in each profession. The remaining one-third may be obtained in either profession at the licensee's discretion. PDH records should be kept for a minimum of 2 years. Our platform provides instant access to and printing of certificates upon successful course or webinar completion. Certificates are securely stored for a minimum of ten years and can be accessed online anytime through your login account.
