Info
Based on your state requirements, on-demand courses are accepted in your state. Our courses are structured to meet NCEES Continuing Professional Competency (CPC) guidelines — the nationally recognized standard for continuing education. Each course includes a final graded assessment and completion certificate, giving you the documentation you need for your state's renewal audit. Engineers are responsible for confirming their specific board requirements.
- PDH Hours Required
- 30 PDH are required biennially for Professional Engineers.
- Renewal Dates
- Starting January 2023, license expiration dates will align with the original date of licensure due to the new automated MiPlus system. This may extend the license period by 1 to 12 months for the first renewal on MiPlus, with no additional continuing education required for the extended period. All continuing education must be completed before the expiration date.
- PDH Carryover
- There is no provision for carrying over excess hours earned into the next renewal period.
- Board Pre-Approval
- The Board does not pre-approve courses or providers. It's up to each engineer to ensure the selected activities meet the Board's criteria.
- Approved Content
- Beginning March 2022, 2 PDH covering engineering ethics is mandatory each renewal period. Courses should aim to maintain, improve, or expand skills and knowledge relevant to the engineering practice. Not Accepted Topic Areas include Business Skills, Firm Management, and Personal Development. A maximum of 12 PDH can be earned in a 24-hour period, and programs with substantially similar content to previously credited programs will not be granted PDH.
- Approved Activities
- Regular employment duties don't count towards PDH. Online continuing education is accepted without a limit on the number of hours.
- Notes
- PDH records should be kept for a minimum of 4 years. Our platform provides instant certificate access and printing upon successful course or webinar completion. Certificates are securely stored for a minimum of ten years and can be accessed online at any time through your login account. The continuing education should be relevant to the engineer's area of practice.
