Does the Kentucky board pre-approve courses?

The Board does not pre-approve providers or courses for engineers. You judge whether an activity meets 201 KAR 18:196, and the Board reviews that judgment through its audit program, which covers four percent of early renewers and everyone who renews on or after September 1.

What content counts toward Kentucky PDH?

Qualifying activities must contain technical, ethical, or managerial subject matter, be relevant to your practice, and be conducted by people with education, training, or expertise in the topic. Kentucky sets no mandatory ethics hour for engineers; the four-hour Standards of Practice course applies to land surveyors.

Which activities count in Kentucky?

Accepted activities include continuing education courses like those offered by us, as long as they are relevant to engineering practice, cover technical, ethical, or managerial topics, are organized learning programs, are conducted by qualified individuals, and do not promote a specific product or service.

Short courses, tutorials, webinars, and distance-education courses offered as face-to-face programs, live internet-based programs, archived prerecorded programs, or archived correspondence programs 201 KAR 18:196

Other Kentucky rules to know

Engineers also holding a land surveying license can apply PDH units earned towards the land surveyor requirements. PDH completion records should be retained. We assist in this by providing instant access to certificates upon course completion, along with a secure ten-year online storage for your certificates of completion.

Do not transmit NCEES CPC tracking records unless selected for CPD audit. KYBOELS continuing education
